In Her Living Room

In Her Living Room is set in the living rooms of urban women, focusing on their daily states of solitude. As a nominally private space that also implies visibility, the living room embodies the intersection of women’s identities and social expectations. I entered the homes of acquaintances and friends, minimizing photographic intervention to allow the subjects to present themselves naturally. Whether resting, lost in thought, or gazing into the lens, these moments convey intimate individuality while also reflecting broader social frameworks.
The work opens conversations about the visibility of women’s spaces, the making-public of private experience, and the tensions between gender identity and social norms. More than a documentary portrait project, In Her Living Room uses photography as a method to observe and reflect on the lived realities of contemporary women.
In Her Living Room以都市女性的客厅为拍摄场景，关注她们在独处时的日常状态。客厅既是封闭的私人空间，又暗含被观看的可能性，承载着女性身份与社会关系的交织。我选择进入熟人和朋友的家中，尽量弱化摄影师的主观介入，让被摄者以自然的姿态展现自己。她们或休憩、或沉思、或与镜头对视，这些片刻既呈现了私密瞬间，也折射出更广泛的社会结构。
作品由此引出关于女性空间可见性、私域经验的公共化，以及性别身份与社会期待之间张力的讨论。In Her Living Room并非单纯的肖像记录，而是借助摄影构建了一种观察与思考当代女性生存状态的方式。
